The van is based in Alvaston, so most of Derby is fifteen minutes away. Servicing, brakes, batteries and diagnostics done on your drive, at work, or wherever the car has stopped.

Which makes it about the easiest city on the patch to work mobile in. Most jobs here need nothing arranging beyond you leaving the keys.
Where it gets awkward is the terraced streets off Normanton Road and Peartree, where the car is on the street and the street is full. Tell us that when you book and we will bring the smaller van and pick a slot outside the school run.
The business parks off Pride Park and Wyvern are the opposite problem: plenty of room, but barrier access. Give us the site name and whether we need signing in, and we will sort it before the day rather than sitting at a gate.
Anything that genuinely cannot be done on a drive — a gearbox out, or a job needing a ramp — we say so on the phone and point you somewhere that can. We would rather lose the job than turn up and discover it.
Our own end of the city. If you would rather drop the keys in, this is where the van starts.
DE24Driveways almost throughout, which makes these some of the most straightforward jobs we do.
DE23 / DE3Wide roads and off-street parking. Good for longer jobs that need the car staying put.
DE22Estate roads with room to work. Ten minutes from base, so often a same-day slot.
DE21Terraced and tight. We bring the smaller van and avoid the school run window.
DE23Business parks with barrier access. Tell us the site name and we will get signed in first.
DE21 / DE24Mixed parking. Worth saying whether the car is on a drive or the street when you book.
DE24Permit bays and loading restrictions. Usually easier to meet you at a car park nearby.
DE1Fifteen minutes from Alvaston to most of the city, longer to Mickleover or Allestree in the peaks. That is travel time, not waiting time — what actually decides your slot is what is already booked that day.
Ring before ten and a same-day slot is realistic for anything short. A full service or a brake job is usually next day.
Usually not. We need about three metres of clear space on the working side and somewhere we are not in a live lane. Terraced streets off Normanton Road are the tightest and we bring the smaller van for those.
Most of our weekday work is exactly that. Leave the keys at reception, tell us roughly where the car is, and it is done before you come out. On the Pride Park and Wyvern sites, let us know if we need signing in.
Then we tell you, and we do not charge you for finding out. Some jobs genuinely need a lift or specialist equipment. We will say what it needs and, if you want, point you at somewhere in Derby that does it properly.
Not anywhere in Derby. The price you are quoted covers getting there. Outside the patch we may add something, and you will hear that figure before you book rather than on the invoice.
Derby is the busiest part of the patch, but the van runs out to Burton, Ashbourne and the villages along the A38 every week.
