Mobile diagnostics
A code is a starting point, not an answer. We read live data, run actuation tests and find the fault rather than replacing the part the light points at.

The honest answer is that about nine jobs in ten can be done properly at your address. The tenth needs a ramp, and we would rather tell you that on the phone than discover it on your drive.
If none of them quite matches what the car is doing, ring and describe it. Half our diagnostic work starts as somebody saying “it is making a noise”.

A code is a starting point, not an answer. We read live data, run actuation tests and find the fault rather than replacing the part the light points at.

Grinding, pulling, a spongy pedal or an MOT advisory. Pads, discs, fluid and calipers, with the wear figures written down so you can see what was left.

A flat battery is a symptom. We load test it, check the alternator output and look for a drain before anybody spends money on a new one.

The manufacturer’s schedule, the right oil grade, and a digital record stamped the same way a franchise would. Block Exemption means your warranty is safe.

Knocks over speed bumps, a wandering steering wheel, uneven tyre wear. Usually a drop link or a bush rather than the shock everybody expects.

The one job where leaving it is genuinely expensive. Belt, tensioner and pump together, because doing the belt alone is a false economy.

We go and look at it before your money does. Two hours, a written report, and no interest either way in whether you buy it.

At the yard, early, before the run. Several vehicles in one visit is cheaper per vehicle and nothing loses a working day sitting in a queue.

Wherever it stopped, including a work car park at five o’clock. Most are fixed on the spot; if it needs recovery you get told straight away.
The van carries dealer-level diagnostics, calibrated torque wrenches and rated stands. The limit is a ramp, not the toolkit.
A code says which circuit is unhappy. Replacing the part named in it is how people spend three hundred pounds and still have the fault.
Gearbox out, engine out, anything needing a lift or four-wheel alignment. You will hear that on the phone, not on the driveway.
Every service here runs across the whole patch at the same price. Your postcode changes the slot, not the bill.
Diagnostics. Describe what it is doing and when — cold start, over bumps, under braking — and we will tell you on the phone whether that sounds like an hour or a morning.
If the diagnosis leads to a job we do, the diagnostic time comes off the repair.
Not everything. Gearboxes, engines out, four-wheel alignment and anything needing a lift are workshop jobs. Everything on this page is not, and we say which is which before travelling.
Usually less, because there is no premises overhead. What you definitely save is the half day of your own time that dropping a car off and collecting it costs.
We will if it is safe to do so, but we cannot guarantee a part we did not supply, and the labour is not covered if that part turns out to be the problem. Most people find the difference is smaller than they expect once we have priced it.
Every service on this page runs across the whole patch. The only thing your postcode changes is which day the van is already coming your way.
