Booking a mobile mechanic means telling us a registration and a home address. This sets out what we do with both, how long we keep them, and what you can make us do about it.

We collect what a repair needs and nothing else. We do not sell anything to anybody. Your address is used to get a van to your car and then it sits in a job record.
Cardwell Mobile Mechanics Ltd is a mobile vehicle repair business registered in England and Wales, company number 12904417, at Unit 9, Wyvern Way, Alvaston, Derby, DE21 6BF. For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the data controller for the information described here.
There is no separate data protection officer. The two directors handle it between them, and you can reach either at bookings@cardwellmobilemechanics.co.uk or on 01332 960184.
Almost all of it comes from you, through the form on this site, by phone, or by text and email.
Where a photograph might appear on our website or social media, we ask you first, and registration plates are obscured before anything is published. You can say no without it affecting the work, and you can ask us to take an image down afterwards.
Data protection law requires a lawful basis for each use. Ours are:
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can object to processing we do on the basis of legitimate interests, and you can withdraw consent for marketing at any time.
Email us and we will respond within one month. There is no charge. We may ask you to confirm who you are first, usually the registration and the address the work was done at.
Some of it we cannot delete on request. An invoice HMRC requires us to keep stays until its retention period is up, and we will tell you if that applies.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first. Most of it is a misunderstanding and gets sorted the same week.
If that does not resolve it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. You do not have to come to us first, but we would rather you did.
